From the Chaplain

Greg Epstein

This Sunday, Anita Sarkeesian will accept the Harvard Humanist of the Year Award, presented by the Humanist Community at Harvard. There has been a huge interest in this event. The crowd won't fit in the Humanist Hub.

So, we have moved the Humanist of the Year Award Ceremony with Anita Sarkeesian to the Harvard Science Center, Hall D.

We are also taking very seriously the security of our guest speaker, whose powerful and influential call for attention to feminist and humanist values in one of the world's biggest industries has not gone unnoticed by opponents of feminism. Thus we are requiring (free) tickets and we will be checking identification at the door.

Get your free tickets here now: we will be sold out very soon.

Ms. Sarkeesian is a feminist, media critic, and blogger. She is the author of the video blog "Feminist Frequency" and the video series Tropes vs. Women and Tropes vs. Women in Video Games, which examine tropes in the depiction of women in popular culture.
