Terrorists are like gangs of sociopaths. Their leaders have expressed their goals: They are determined to control and rule the lives of people, to keep women hidden and covered in their homes, thus to enslave them, even to marry girls as young as 9.

If you, or someone you know, is verbally abused, it is important to respond to the invasion not the details. For Example: Annie hears, "You just want to argue!" Annie, like most people, explains, "I wasn't arguing. I just want you to know that dinner gets cold if you don't call if you're going to be late."

 

She has responded to the detail, "to argue" but not to the invasion, "You want." The message she is sending the abuser is, "It's okay to tell me what I want, but not in this case." A better response would be, "Don't tell me what I want. You're not me. Just cut it out!"

Custody issues affect many people who don't feel that their child would be safe alone with a person who indulges in verbal abuse. I never thought that hundreds of thousands of women, as well as some men, have been living in oppression, controlled, confused and tormented by their mate.
