eNews: Vestry Decision on Capital Campaign
|
July 20, 2012
|
After sharing in the Eucharist, listening intently to one another, and pausing for periods of silent prayer, the Vestry voted unanimously on Thursday evening to begin organizing for a capital stewardship campaign to begin shortly.
Out of the input received from a variety of sources including Listening Sessions, Focus Groups, conversations and comments from individuals, the Vestry has determined that the priorities for the campaign will be:
- Organ replacement
- Improvements to lighting and sound
- Improvements to the chancel area, including moving the choir out of the corner, and improving accessibility
- Needed renovations to Rodman House
- A Ministry Center
- Increases to the Endowment Fund and starting an Outreach and Justice fund
The Vestry decided not to prioritize the canting of the pews or the suggested medallion.
These priorities will be funded on the basis of the outcome of the campaign.
Also decided is to proceed with developing a contract with our capital campaign consultant that will allow maximum flexibility in terms of length of the term of the contract.
