Veteran Appreciation Event 

Stafford County, in partnership with the City of Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania County, is proud to announce a special WWII veteran appreciation event on Thursday, December 8, from 9:00 a.m. to noon at the Eagles Lodge

The event is in conjunction with the Virginia World War I and World War II Commemoration Commission. The commission's December 8 program, "Dawn of Infamy: America Goes to War will be simulcast at Stafford's veteran event.

'Home for the Holidays'

The public is invited to view the historic house decorated for the holidays in the spirit and style of the Melchers. 

The interior decorations are inspired by Mrs. Melchers' journal entries and archival materials to create the look and warmth of the Melchers' welcoming home.
