Honoring you,

Wednesday November 11th
2010 Memorial Day L Birds

Members of the US Military, both Veterans &
Active Duty  will receive free museum admission to WAAAM when they present their military ID or proof of service on Wednesday, November 11. This discount superseded the usual discounts that active military and veterans receive at the museum.

For those who are unable to visit the museum on Veteran's Day, several of WAAAM's World War II,Vietnam and Korean era L-bird airplanes will be flying over Hood River for everyone to enjoy. Look to the skies and give the volunteers and our military service members a cheer.

 November 14th is..
Second Saturday!

We bring to you some Local History! Oregon is full of people, business and events that make history exciting. Come along... WAAAM can be part of your history.
The story of General Airways AKA the "Roseliner"
will be at 11am. Learn all about Portland's very own air service from its early history to its last days in service. Volunteer Dayle Harris is the nephew of the founders of General Airways Guss and Georgette Callas. He has a fascinating tale of this couple whose love of aviation  was unstoppable!

On the Cover is The National Winner! It is Hood Rivers own Resurrected Rust Team and they will be giving a talk about their most recent back-to-back win of The Great American Blue Collar Build-Off sponsored by Rat Rod Magazine. Build leader Gary Fisher along with the team will walk us through the build up in only 30 days and under $3,000, and just what it takes to win the contest not just once but twice in a row. That is history in the making.....The talk at WAAAM will also come hot on the heels of Fisher's trip to the set of the Discovery Channel show Las Vegas Rat Rods. While everyone will have to wait for the program's air date, visitors to WAAAM's Second Saturday event  on November 14will get all of the details ahead of time and have the opportunity to ask Fisher questions too.

Two 1927 racers will go head to head to see which car is the fastest. You won't want to miss out on all the Second Saturday fun!
