Dear Friends and Supporters,
Momma Nature has made our spring a bit difficult. Our dirt work contractor, R&R Trenching and Excavating of Box Elder, has been at a standstill since our last e-newsletter. Every time the ground dries out enough for the crew to move in and work, another snowstorm comes.
Lest you think we are complaining about moisture, be assured, we are NOT! The land waits, and while it waits it heals from the drought. Without grass and plants, prey animals cannot eat. Without prey animals, the predators cannot eat. And so we acknowledge that the snow and rain is to be cherished.
Just as the earth needs moisture, the birds need you! We have a series of fundraisers coming up. Check out this issue for ways to help build a permanent home for the educational raptors we care for. This new home will also allow us to apply for a rehabilitation permit from the US Fish & Wildlife Service.
