Recently, I was asked by a fellow Fremd parent if I was being compensated as President of the Booster Club. The answer is no. All of your Fremd Booster Club Board members are unpaid volunteers. That includes all officers and committee chairs. We have a great group of 40 - 60 Fremd parents that enjoy supporting our mission of fundraising and financially supporting all students at Fremd High School, in all of their endeavors.
Our volunteers realize their value when they see long lines at our concession stand or spirit shop, when a group of tired kids get off the buses after a great night at our post prom event, and the smile on the face of a graduating senior presented with a $1,000 service scholarship.
Each year we have natural volunteer turnover. The parents of graduating seniors leave the board, and others move on due to work or other schedule changes. To be a successful club, we need new volunteers to fill open board positions. No previous experience is required. We will be holding two New Member Orientation meetings in April. Both sessions will be identical, you only need to attend once. They will be held at 7 pm at Fremd, on Wednesday April 6th or April 20th. We will have information about our various committees, explaining responsibility and time commitment. Please consider attending, we need additional dedicated volunteers to continue our mission.
If you are unable to attend one of these meetings, please feel free to attend one of our regular monthly meetings on the second Tuesday of each month, at 7 pm, in the Fremd Media Center. Also, mark your calendar for our Annual Meeting on Tuesday, June 14, 2016.
I hope all Fremd families had a relaxing and enjoyable Spring Break. Only about 60 days until the end of the school year. The Booster Club will be pushing hard to finish strong. Thanks to our board for all their hard work, and all booster club members for supporting Fremd High School and our students.
