A Word from our President

Your Fremd Booster Club has had many successes during fall semester, and we want to continue that momentum as we move into 2016.

Boosters is still working hard to support your children.  Much of the spring semester will focus on giving back money to Fremd and its students via scholarships, the Principal's wish list, and of course the Post-Prom activities associated with the trip to Navy Pier's Lakeview Terrace.

Although most of our fundraising is done, we still have our Spring Craft Fair coming up on April 2, 2016.  Please come out and support our crafters.  Admission and parking is FREE.  Also, our Spirit Shop is open often with lots of new items, so think of the Shop first when you are shopping for Fremd gear.  Finally, it is never too late to join Boosters.  We turn your $25 membership fee into lots of wonderful support for Fremd students.  Visit the Fremd website under the parent section for membership materials.  We are independent of any other organization.  All $25 stays at Fremd.  There are no monies sent to state or national entities.

Thank you to all of our Booster Club members for joining and supporting Boosters, coming to the Dinner Dance, volunteering in the Spirit Shop or Concessions, and helping out at our large functions, such as the Craft Fairs.  We have lots of volunteer opportunities for the upcoming Spring Craft Fair and the Winter Fest Dance on February 6, as well as the Spirit Shop, the Concession stand, and Post-Prom.  Please send an email to [email protected] if you would like to help out on any of these activities.

Also, if you are not a Board Member, but are interested in learning more, please either contact us or attend one of our informational meetings coming later this spring.  Our normal meetings are at 7 pm in the Media Center on the second Tuesday of each month.  Everyone is welcome to attend.

The success of the Viking Booster Club reflects the combined efforts of all our Fremd families.  With your continued involvement, Fremd will maintain its excellence in academic, cultural and athletic programs.  Thanks so much for supporting the Booster Club and your Fremd Vikings.  Happy New Year and continued success to all our Fremd families in 2016.

Thank you to the more than 200 people who braved near blizzard conditions November 21st to attend this year's Denim & Diamonds Dinner Dance held at the beautifully decorated Cotillion in Palatine.  Everyone who attended had a wonderful evening.  Diamond earrings, trips to Cabo and South Carolina, a wine pull, Blackhawks and Cubs items, and a number of Fremd items, including parking passes were purchased by the attendees.  More than $60 thousand dollars was raised to support Fremd High School and its students.  A huge thank you to everyone who donated items to the live and silent auctions. And special thanks to the Dinner Dance committee and Booster Club volunteers, especially Brenda Schwantz, Cindy Payne, Lisa Colby, Kimberly Gosell, Kris Haas, Heather Hazlett, Scott Toriumi, Ed Hansen, Joanne Wojcik, Aimee Albano, Kurt Tenopir and Donna Adcock for your efforts and hard work.  Look for an information survey in your in-box in the very near future that we would like everyone to complete as we look for feedback on ways to improve the Dinner Dance experience and attract new attendees.
