In 1955 millions of Brooklyn Dodgers fans huddled around their radios to listen to one announcer declare their first World Series victory. And now, more than half a century later, that same voice of blue has connected generations with every single moment of Dodgers history. From the perfect games of Koufax and Larsen to the dramatic home run of Kirk Gibson, it has been one single institution of a man, who's play-by-play poetry through sixty-two (and counting) seasons, has made him the great pillar of the Dodgers, Vin Scully.
Beyond the broadcasting talents that have earned him an Emmy, National Sportscaster Of The Year (three times), and a place of honor in both Radio and Baseball's Hall of Fame, Mr. Scully has gained a legendary reputation for the unwavering integrity he brings to his announcers chair. As a result of these high standards, never in his career has he agreed to the many offers to make his signature available to collectors. At least not until now.
We are humbled at Art of the Game, by being chosen by Vin Scully to offer for the first time ever, his signature to the fans of his team. In our twelve years with the Dodgers organization we can't think of any honor greater than this.
Equal only to the magnitude of this opportunity is the urgency. Just a handful of items will be signed in total and made available for collectors. As such, we expect a full sell out of all the signed items in a matter of a few weeks, if not days.
As a friend to The Art of the Game, we wanted to make sure you knew about this offering before we announced it to the general public, giving you an opportunity to respond while we still have all the signed items available.
All the best.
