Congratulations to the 2013 Environmental Endowment Mini-Grant Winners

The Virginia Mini-Grant Program supports community-based efforts to strengthen environmental education and to promote stewardship of Virginia's waterways. These are intended to be one-time, start-up grants, and preference is given to modest local projects. Check out the 2013 grant winners.

Happy Great Outdoors Month

The President's proclamation touts the  importance of outdoor recreation and learning, stewardship of public lands, helping American's reconnect with nature and the five national monuments designated earlier this year. It draws the connection to innovation saying, "Our natural spaces are also laboratories for scientists, inventors, and creators - Americans who sustain a tradition of innovation that makes our country the most dynamic economy on earth." Read the President's proclamation and Governor McDonnell's  proclamation about outdoors month. Plan to spend some enjoyable time outdoors.  There is a Virginia state park near you.
Sincerely,
