Vision Maker Media Announces Board of Directors
 
(Lincoln, Nebraska) Professor and Journalist Mark Trahant (Shoshone-Bannock) was elected Chair of the Vision Maker Media Board of Directors. Trahant is the Charles R. Johnson Endowed Professor of Journalism, University of North Dakota Communication Program. The Board's Annual Meeting was Nov. 11 at Twin Cities Public Television (TPT) in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Completing the executive committee: Vice Chair - Maya Solis-Austin (Pascua Yaqui/Blackfeet), Program Manager, Sundance Institute; Secretary - Roy Clem (Eastern Band of Cherokee) Executive Director, Alabama Public Television; and Treasurer - Randal P. Hansen, Assistant General Manager of Nebraska Educational Telecommunications (NET), University of Nebraska Television.

Elected for three-year terms: Joely Proudfit (LuiseƱo), Director, California Indian Culture and Sovereignty Center, and Elizabeth Weatherford, Founder, Film and Video Center, Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian.

Also serving on the Board: Joni Buffalohead (Sisseton-Wahpeton Dakota), Tribal Operations Manager, Blue Cross BlueShield; Robin Butterfield (Winnebago/Chippewa), Senior Liaison for Minority Community Outreach, National Education Association; Brian Gunn (Colville), Principal, Powers, Pyles, Sutter & Verville, PC; Franz Joachim, General Manager & CEO, New Mexico PBS; Mary Kathryn Nagle (Cherokee Nation), Partner, Pipestem Law in Washington, D.C.
