WORLD THINKING DAY

Saturday, February 22

Each year on February 22, World Thinking Day, girls participate in activities and projects with global themes to honor their sister Girl Guides and Girl Scouts in over 150 countries. The theme for World Thinking Day 2014 is "Education opens doors for all girls and boys." This year's theme underscores the importance of ensuring that all children around the world, particularly girls, have access to education. Educating girls is one of the most powerful and effective ways to reduce global poverty.

All troops are encouraged to earn the World Thinking Day Award 2014! Read a book, learn a game from another culture, find out about school systems in other countries, and more! Check out GSUSA's Web site for the FUN activities and requirements for each level to earn the World Thinking Day Award 2014!

BECOME A FIRST AID - CPR TRAINER

Saturday, March 1 in Dodge City

We are looking for a few new First Aid and CPR trainers! There is a First Aid and CPR instructor certification course scheduled for March 1 in Dodge City.

This course provides you with the skills needed to train others in First Aid and CPR. At the conclusion of this full-day course you will be certified as an instructor by the National Safety Council. Participants are asked to commit to facilitating First Aid and CPR courses for the Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland for a two-year term.

Do you know someone who would make a great First Aid and CPR instructor - perhaps a parent in your troop or an older sibling of a Girl Scout interested in a health career? This would be a great opportunity to bring a new volunteer into Girl Scouts!
