Volunteer Toolkit Access and Maintenance Update
We were advised by GSUSA late last week that troop leaders not registered for the next membership year as of June 30th will lose access to their Volunteer Toolkit as of July 1st. Leaders will maintain access to their MY GS community until September 30th, when the current membership year ends.

Volunteer Toolkit (VTK) - Dates to know
  • Troop Leaders who have not renewed their 2018 membership by June 30, 2017 will not have access to their VTK after July 1st
  • Upon renewal for 2018, Troop Leaders will immediately have restored access to their VTK
  • VTK will be unavailable to Troop Leaders July 1st-7th while annual maintenance is completed by GSUSA
    • A VTK Maintenance page will be displayed when leaders attempt to access the VTK
So, if you haven't renewed yet for 2017-18, now is the time! Don't lose access to the valuable planning tools in the VTK!

LAST CALL! Our Foundation is YOU! Essay Contest: Entries due June 30!
There's still time to get your essay entry in by June 30th. We want to hear from even more of our girls and adult volunteers with your essays, too!

Did you know? Our newly purchased administrative headquarters has an unfinished first floor. One of the very first parts of the build-out process will be to lay the foundation. That's why we are taking this unique opportunity to reflect on our work as a staff team and remember why we need an office in the first place. The answer is: you! Our members are the foundation on which all of our ideas, plans, tactics, goals and successes are built.

We invite you to become a part of this next step for our Council by contributing to both the "underlying below ground level" of this building and the "underlying basis" for our work within it. Adult volunteers and girl members are asked to answer one of the questions below with a short essay (please do not exceed 300 words) and return entries to: [email protected] by June 30, 2017.

Adult Volunteer Essay Question:
How do you build a strong foundation for girls, and our entire world, by volunteering in Girl Scouts?

Girl Member Essay Question:
How are you building a strong foundation for your future by being a Girl Scout today?

One adult volunteer essay and one girl member essay will be selected to represent all of GSSEF as the foundation of our new venture and this building by having their words live forever, sealed and placed into our actual foundation, before the new concrete is poured. Winners will be announced in July. We will invite the two winners to join our Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and Grand Opening Celebration (in 2018) to read their essays.
