With the school year ending, many kids face hunger this summer. The Summer Food Service Program ensures that low-income children continue to receive nutritious meals when school is not in session. More than 200 million free meals will be provided to children 18 years and under at Summer Food Service sites across the U.S. Two ways your organization can help: (1) Participate as a Summer Food Service Program and (2) Get the word out and promote summer feeding sites in your community.

Make this Summer a
Summer of Service!

With summer right around the corner, now is the perfect time to think about ways in which young people and their families can serve their communities during the break. Service and volunteerism gives youth an identity and purpose and helps them to develop important skills in critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication. Consider ways your organization can reach out to youth and families this summer and look for opportunities you might have in which youth and families might serve together.
