IN THE SPOTLIGHT
BRI
Bloomington Restorations, Inc.
What better way to round out national historic preservation month than by shining the spotlight on Bloomington Restorations Inc.? BRI strengthens Bloomington and the surrounding communities by saving, restoring, and promoting buildings, sites, and places important to the diverse heritage of Bloomington and Monroe County. In addition, they develop and promote affordable housing. Volunteers can support preservation work though committees, the annual home tour, and year round in the garden and grounds at the Hinkle-Garton farmstead, BRI's historic headquarters on East 10th Street.

Courtney Stewart: Commission on Aging
The vision of the City's Commission on Aging is to make Bloomington more age- and ability-friendly is a vision that CoA member Courtney Stewart can get behind. As one of the commission's youngest members, she is advocating for her own future in this community, and for the health, safety, and quality of life of those already 55 or better. This year's year round CoA focus on Creative Aging and Seniors in Poverty are offering new ways to focus her passion for making Bloomington a great place to age gracefully.  Listen here to this Story of Service on Activate.

Activate is a co-production of WFHB Community Radio and the Bloomington Volunteer Network.
