WACA Chair Popadiuk at Jacksonville Council

World Affairs Council of Jacksonville will host WACA National Board Chair Roman Popadiuk at the Council's Annual Member Celebration on Tuesday, May 17. Ambassador Popadiuk will speak to the question "Expanded NATO: Was It a Good Idea?"

Cover to Cover  in May will feature author Dr. Steven Radelet  on his new book The Great Surge: the Ascent of the Developing World this Wednesday , May 18, at 2:00-2:30 PM ET




Steven Radelet holds the Donald F. McHenry Chair in Global Human Development, is Distinguished Professor of the Practice of Development, and is Director of the Global Human Development Program at Georgetown University's Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service. He serves as an economic adviser to President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf of Liberia, and is a Non-Resident Fellow at the Brookings Institution. His work focuses on economic growth, foreign aid, debt, and financial crises, primarily in Africa and Asia ( full bio ).

GLOBAL I.Q. MINUTE WITH AMB. PETER WITTIG

The World Affairs Council of Dallas/Fort worth hosts on its podcast series Global I.Q. Minute His Excellency Ambassador Peter Wittig, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the United States.  Jim Falk, President and CEO  of the Council discussed with the ambassador the many issues facing Germany and the EU, including: the German strategy for dealing with the Syrian refugee crisis, the rise in European nationalism and the potential ramifications of the United Kingdom leaving the European Union.

JOB ANNOUNCEMENT 

The Columbus Council on World Affairs seeks to hire a Program Coordinator to start on July 1, 2016. This role provides essential operational support for the Columbus Council on World Affairs' fastest growing programs, including the high school Global Scholars Diploma program and Global Fluency Training for professionals.  This is a full-time position, with a salary range of $30,000-$35,000 depending on experience, the Program Coordinator will report to the Director of Global Education.
