Happy Spring!

We are proud to provide our members with a variety of networking opportunities over the next couple of months that are either free or low cost!  The Racine County Business Resource Event on April 16th - is FREE! This event is hosted by all of the chambers in Racine County and it's open to the public.  The Multi-Chamber networking event on May 7th is hosted by ten of the neighboring chambers in Racine, Kenosha and Walworth counties and only costs $25.  We have to limit seating to two reps per business for this event so it's important to register right away.  The links to both events are listed below.

ChamberMaster is proving to be a great tool for our chamber members.  Those who are using it are seeing more traffic directed to their websites and come up more often in website searches!  Do you have an event to post?  A job opening to post?  A special deal to share? Use ChamberMaster to do all three!  The best part is this is FREE with your chamber membership! If you need a link to the login, please let us know.  Watch for upcoming ChamberMaster orientations.

April's Featured WACC Member Business of the Month - Sweet Delight Kettle Corn

Sweet Delight Kettle Corn was a business idea Jeff and Laurie Wasielewski of Muskego had five years ago as they thought of business plans that would allow them to work together.   When Sweet Delight was starting off, Jeff continued to work his full-time job at a print shop during the week and pop kettle corn at local fairs and festival type events with Laurie, who was a stay at home mom, on the weekends.  When the work climate changed at the print shop, Jeff decided it was time to make a move and he left the printing company to build Sweet Delight into a full-time business.  By the summer of 2011 the business took off and they brought along their son and daughter to help with events.  Soon they were busy enough to hire other family members and friends to keep up with the ever growing demand.

Their son has taken a true interest in the family business and they are now considering a second kettle so he can branch off to create other menu items while Laurie and Jeff focus on the kettle corn.  They offer three flavors of kettle corn: Original, Maple and Caramel.  They also sell deep fried cheese curds and freshly squeezed lemonade as the opportunities become available at the various events.  Their menu changes to fit the needs of the events.  They prefer local Wisconsin events but have participated in events in Illinois and Minnesota.  You may have seen them at the last three Balloonfests!  Their goal is to work hard during June-November and then take time off the other months to enjoy warmer climates.

Laurie and Jeff enjoy working together along with their son and daughter and have found a true life balance.  They continuously work their business plan to improve efficiency and overall betterment for the family and for the business.

Visit their website at www.sweetdelightkettlecorn.com or check out their calendar of events on Facebook.  Their product is sold locally at Piggly Wiggly - Muskego; Patterson's Orchard - New Berlin; Blair's True Value stores in New Berlin and Menomonee Falls.
