Calls for Art
There are opportunities galore for artists this season! Don't miss out!
Wanted: Artists for Spirit Lines
Find beauty in the broken and imperfect in the tradition of Wabi Sabi. The scraps that make up a quilt, the laugh lines at the corner of an eye, broken ceramics reinvented into a mosaic, and fault lines in the earth's surface, all show the broken and weathered in a different light.

The exhibit will run from March 23 through May 5, 2018.

The deadline is right around the corner! All entries are due:
Friday, February 23.
Meet the Jurors
Heather Beemer

Heather is a henna artist that you may have seen working her magic at the Gordon's Concerts over the past few summers.

The art of henna requires patience and skill. Most designs have a purpose. The spirit lines in this medium are in the meaning behind each design.

Joanne Kozuchowski

Joanne is a glass artist out of White Rock who currently has work in a couple different galleries in the area.

With stained glass, the artist has control over the final image but the relation to spirit lines is that it's put together with fragments of broken glass. When fusing glass, there's less control over the process. The artist accepts the final product, finding beauty in the imperfect, the spirit lines .

Meredith McPherson

Meredith, whom you may recognize from our Portal Gallery in 2017, uses Chinese Calligraphy as her medium.

The enso is a spirit line in and of itself. No more than two strokes are used to create the image which takes place when the mind is free to let the body create.
