RENEWAL
STATE CERTIFICATION RENEWAL

The state  does not send renewal notifications to certified technicians or to their company of employment.
 
You can check your expiration date here
 
The WBFAA sends member companies a monthly roster with billing for review of action items from a company representative.

The Electrician Certification Unit of the state of California has changed their number to 510-286-3900

The ECU estimates a four week process for all applications.

What does the WBFAA offer for this compliance?
- The WBFAA offers 72 hours of Online courses for continuing education through www.wbfaatraining.net 
- The WBFAA is approved by the State to certify all In-house and 3rd party manufacturers training, you or your technician takes.

RENEWAL For Expired Certification
- WBFAA Offers State Certification Preparation material. 


In house training is defined as any training you do at your company that is part of your schedule on a given work day.
- Workplace safety seminars or meetings
- New software or operating system training
- Training on new equipment by supervisors mandatory for your job

Social Security Administration Work History Report
Effective 1/1/2012 (AB 1346) passed. This bill would require individuals desiring to be certified to submit an application for examination and certification that includes an employment history report from the Social Security Administration as proof of employment. Proof of employment can be obtained from the DIR website or by calling (800) 809-0280

If so, make sure you are sending your Training Trust Funds by the the 15th of the month for the previous month worked to the WBFAA.

NOTE: YOU MUST COMPLETE AND SUBMIT A DAS 142 AND 140 FOR ALL PREVAILING WAGE JOBS WITH A TOTAL CONTRACT AWARD OVER $30,000. FOR CONTRACTS UNDER $30,000 YOU DO NOT NEED TO SUBMIT THESE FORMS, HOWEVER YOU STILL MUST SUBMIT TRAINING TRUST FUND CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE WBFAA.

* Not Reporting On The Job Training hours (OJT's) on time to the WBFAA Training Office may affect the pay grade of the apprentice.
** Report all hours worked on OJT Form. Hours should total approximately 160 a month.
On the Job Training Hours (OJTs): OJTs Should be sent to the WBFAA UATC Training Office by the 5th of the month and no later than the 10th to be compliant. When your hours are received, you will receive an e-mail confirmation. Total hours reported should be approximately 160 hours per month. If your reporting hours for the month are less than 140, please state the reason (i.e. vacation, illness, no work, etc.). Your instructor will contact you on the 5th and your employer will be notified on the 10th if your hours have not been submitted.

Chabot Enrollment
Each new apprentice must do a ONE TIME ENROLLMENT into Chabot-Las Positas Community College District by completing the application at the following website: Chabot Enrollement

Once the apprentice has enrolled in CLPCCD, please notify the WBFAA UATC administrative office immediately by forwarding the confirmation
e-mail to info@wbfaa.net or by calling 800-809-0280. The WBFAA will then register you in your online classes.

UNEPLOYED  WBFAA UATC Policy Unemployed Apprentice

* When an apprentice becomes unemployed, except for cause, he/she shall be placed on the "Inactive Apprentice List."

* The unemployed apprentice shall communicate monthly, in writing, with the Program Administrator indicating his/her intention to remain in the program. Failure to comply with this requirement shall cause the Program Administrator to initiate procedures to drop the apprentice from the program.

* The unemployed apprentice shall be retained on the "Inactive Apprentice List" for a period of one year from his/her date of layoff.

* In the event the apprentice on the "Inactive Apprentice List" is rehired or finds employment with another assented WBFAA UATC employer; he/she shall be placed on the "Active Apprentice List."

* An unemployed apprentice on the "Inactive Apprentice List" shall NOT be allowed to attend any Related and Supplemental Instruction classes.
