WCAC welcomes new Director of Finance
Scherer brings wealth of non-profit experience to finance post
Worcester, Massachusetts - Worcester Community Action Council recently appointed Robert Scherer to one of the agency's top posts - its new Director of Finance. A graduate of the College of the Holy Cross and the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts, Scherer said he is pleased to be coming back to Worcester.

"I am happy to be joining such a dynamic agency as WCAC," he said, "and look forward to supporting efforts to combat poverty and provide essential services to individuals and families."

Most recently having served as the Director of Finance for the South Middlesex Opportunity Council in Framingham, Scherer has worked for a variety of non-profit and state agencies, specializing in contract administration, budgets and grant oversight.

WCAC Executive Director Jill Dagilis said, "Rob has dedicated his career to financial administration for non-profit and human service agencies. We are pleased to welcome him to our team and are confident his skills and expertise will continue to keep WCAC on solid financial ground in order to carry out our important work."

A member of the Board of Selectman in Ashland, where he resides with his wife, Scherer is the father of four adult children.
