The WCMS Annual Celebration at Highland Brewing Company was a Success!

On January 29th, WCMS celebrated a year full of accomplishments, thanking past leadership and welcoming the new Association and Foundation Board Members. To showcase the most frequently utilized languages provided by WIN (the interpreter network) delicious hors d'oeuvres from Spanish, Russian and Chinese speaking countries were enjoyed by all.

Does your physician partner read the weekly e-Newsletter, Vital Signs?
Did you know WCMS physicians receive a weekly e-Newsletter called Vital Signs?  It is packed full of "hot off the press" happenings in the western North Carolina medical community.  You may want to consider having this delivered to your "physician family" home email address. It makes for some great dinner conversation, and keeps your doc connected!

If you'd like to start receiving Vital Signs in your "physician family" home email, contact Kylie Bechdolt at   [email protected]  with your preferred email address.
Homemade hot fudge sauce, perfect for your winter desserts!
Homemade Hot Fudge Sauce

½ cup butter, cut into tablespoons
4 oz. unsweetened chocolate
1 ½ C sugar
12oz. can of evaporated milk
2 tsp. vanilla

Place the butter and chocolate squares in a heavy saucepan over low heat, stirring with a whisk, until melted.  Turn off the heat and whisk in the sugar until well blended.

Next whisk in the evaporated milk and cook over medium heat.  Cook on a gentle simmer, whisking frequently until the sauce thickens enough to coat a spatula (about 12-15 minutes).

Turn off the heat and stir in the vanilla (the hot fudge sauce will thicken as it cools).

Makes about 3 cups of sauce and can be kept up to two weeks in the refrigerator.  Enjoy!
