September Newcomers' Picnic a Success!



On September 18th, WCMS hosted its annual Newcomers' Picnic to welcome new physicians to WNC. The event also served as a way to welcome physician assistants to WCMS membership in 2017. 

WCMS physician members, new WNC physicians, physician assistants and their families enjoyed lawn games, raffle prizes, and a delicious catered dinner at Yesterday Spaces farm in Leicester. 
WCMS Annual Celebration is on January 29th, 2017
Save the Date: Sunday January 29, 2017 for the WCMS Annual Celebration. The event will again be hosted at Highland Brewing Company. Further details and event registration will be available shortly. 
Two Easy Fall Recipes your Family will Love
Chocolate Pumpkin Muffins

1 box of Devil's Food Cake mix
15 oz. can of pumpkin
2/3 C. water
6 oz. mini chocolate chips

Mix all together and bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes in a lightly greased muffin pan. This is a great way to incorporate a vegetable serving, and your kids won't even know! Makes 18 muffins. 

Apple Cake

2 eggs
2/3 C. vegetable oil
2 C. sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
2 C. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 C. sliced apples
1 C. chopped walnuts

Blend all ingredients under batter is moist. Bake for 1 hour in well-greased tube pan at 350 degrees. Let rest 15 minutes, then turn out on plate. Enjoy!
