Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's most celebrated Sherlock Holmes story gets a makeover by renowned "Brit wits" Steven Canny and John Nicholson. Three actors play 16 roles in a "comedy atlas, using slapstick, witty wordplay, sight gags, disappearing pants, physical comedy, playful props and direct address to the audience." A wounded Union solder, Corporal McBurney (Colin Farrell, a likely supporting actor nominee), is given refuge at the school. Also look for a co-writing screenplay Oscar nomination for Sofia Coppola, and a director nomination for Coppola, who received the director award for "The Beguiled" at the 2017 Cannes film festival, only the second female director ever to do so.
