Thank you to everyone who attended WDIY's 2nd Annual Homebrew Fest this past Saturday. It was a big success and we enjoyed seeing so many members and beer lovers come together to celebrate the homebrewers of the Lehigh Valley and support WDIY! Check out photos of the event HERE courtesy of The Morning Call, and look for our grand prize winning homebrewer, John Litak, to be featured as a guest this fall on Lehigh Valley Arts Salon. We already can't wait to see all of you at the 3rd Annual Homebrew Fest in 2018.

Cheers!

The Hound of Baskervilles
Presented by The Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival
Unleashed, unearthly, and unbelievably funny, this "Hound" is a comic thriller, a la The 39 Steps. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's most celebrated Sherlock Holmes story gets a makeover by renowned "Brit wits" Steven Canny and John Nicholson. Three actors play 16 roles in a "comedy atlas, using slapstick, witty wordplay, sight gags, disappearing pants, physical comedy, playful props and direct address to the audience." Why are the Baskerville male heirs so susceptible to dying so young? Is it really a curse? And what about those paw prints? PG13

CIRQUE IT! is Bethlehem's newest festival, a joyous 3-day celebration of the many faces of the circus arts, and a creative collaboration between ArtsQuest, Touchstone Theatre, and the Zoellner Arts Center (July 14-16, 2017).  Deborah Sacarakis, artistic director of Zoellner Arts Center, and JP Jordan, Touchstone's artistic director, join hosts Kate Scuffle and George Miller to talk about artists, puppets, flying clowns, music and all of the magic that awaits at CIRQUE IT!

At the Movies: Look for multiple Oscar nominations, including for Nicole Kidman as actress, for "The Beguiled," a tense drama about a young women's academy circa 1864 Virginia during the Civil War. A wounded Union solder, Corporal McBurney (Colin Farrell, a likely supporting actor nominee), is given refuge at the school. Also look for a co-writing screenplay Oscar nomination for Sofia Coppola, and a director nomination for Coppola, who received the director award for "The Beguiled" at the 2017 Cannes film festival, only the second female director ever to do so. Paul Willistein of the Lehigh Valley Press reviews the Civil War drama.
