The Avalon String Band

The Avalon Jazz Band was formed when two aficionados of French jazz involved with the New York swing renaissance joined together to play French and American Swing jazz. The group has since performed all over New York City in popular clubs and dance halls. They serve up popular music on the 1940s Parisian jazz scene, as well as originals written by vocalist Tatiana Eva-Marie that blend contemporary American swing with her own French culture. This Levitt show is a part of SouthSide Swing.


As You Like It

Arlo Guthrie has been known to generations as a prolific songwriter, social commentator, master storyteller, actor and activist. Born in Coney Island, New York in 1947, Arlo is the eldest son of Marjorie Mazia Guthrie, a professional dancer with the Martha Graham Company and founder of The Committee to Combat Huntington's Disease, and America's most beloved singer/writer/philosopher/artist Woody Guthrie. Arlo has become an iconic figure in folk music in his own right with a distinguished and varied career spanning over fifty years.

Alexandre Dumas' timeless tale springs to life as the young D'Artagnan discovers honor amid international intrigue and high-stakes adventures. Returning to the director's chair at PSF is world-renowned fight choreographer Rick Sordelet, whose credits include Broadway, Disney, The Metropolitan Opera and the Royal Opera House. Ages 7+

Host Neil Hever talks with Pat Taggart, director of the new documentary " Billboard Boys", chronicling the contest of Allentown AM radio station WSAN in 1982. What started as a short-term publicity stunt to see who could live on a billboard over a busy highway the longest transformed into a nearly year-long international phenomenon.  

At the Movies: In the animated feature movie, "Despicable Me 3," Steve Carell gets to do two vocal characterizations: that of Gru and his twin brother, Dru. Other voice talents include Kristen Wiig, Trey Parker, Miranda Cosgrove, Steve Coogan and Julie Andrews. The Minions are back, too. Paul Willistein of the Lehigh Valley Press reviews the comedy.
