WOMEN'S EVENING BIBLE STUDY STARTS 1/30!
*starting Tuesday, January 30, 2018! A 6-week study of Ruth with the book, A Woman Who Doesn't Quit: 5 Habits from the Book of Ruth by Nicki Koziarz.

OVERVIEW :
Have you ever gotten to the place where you just couldn’t take it anymore? Dreams. Programs. Jobs. Relationships. There are so many different areas where we feel like calling it quits. It’s time for an honest conversation on how not to give in to the temptation to give up. Nicki Koziarz is a woman who has thrown in the towel a time or two. In fact, she’s quit just about everything in her life. But with God’s help, she’s discovered a few habits that have helped her and others conquer the choice to quit. Then there is Ruth. She is much more tha n   a Bible   story a nd through her life we uncover five life-giving habits that help us to persevere when things get hard, complicated, and messy. But these habits do more than just motivate, they help us to fight when resistance arises. They teach us to pursue discipline and the desire to determine our daily direction. These habits show how success is not achieved by pursuing temporary desires. The direction of our lives needs to be far less about to-do lists and accomplishments. And instead focus on becoming the people God can count on.

5 Habits of a Woman Who Doesn’t Quit   will enable you to:
  • Evaluate the internal personal struggles that make you want to quit.
  • Cultivate consistent habits to help you progress toward your goals.
  • Receive a fresh dose of perspective from the Bible that will help you develop perseverance.

You are not made to quit! Join Nicki as she identifies five habits to help you keep going no matter what struggles may come your way.

HOW : There is a Bible study version AND a regular paperback version.   The Bible study version will have the questions included. $12.00 at Lifeway.com.   $14 at Amazon.com   $10 at BarnesandNoble.com (this is the paperback book, not the Bible study book -used versions available). UMATTER: EMPTY BOWLS! HELP END HUNGER 2/2!
Friday, February 2, 2018 @ 5:00-8:00PM Radnor High School’s Umatter, is thrilled to announce their third annual Empty Bowl fundraising event to help end hunger! This event will be held in our very own Gathering Place (lower level). $15 will buy you a handmade ceramic bowl (they are bigger and better this year!), dinner, and will help to fill another’s empty stomach! All proceeds will benefit our church’s food pantry and the ABC house in Wayne! This year we need volunteers to help with providing food (soup or chili)! If you would be willing to make a crockpot of something to serve in the bowls (soup, chili, mac-n-cheese etc.), we would be so grateful! We will have students (and the youth group) there serving, but we need food to serve! To sign-up, please visit the link provided below and drop it off at the church by 4:00PM on Friday, February 2, 2018.
WANTED: COORDINATORS FOR CHOSEN 300!
Chosen 300 has a need for 2 Coordinators!

WORSHIP COORDINATOR
The person in this role is responsible for making sure we have 2-3 volunteers needed for a brief service at each serving (6 times/year).   Volunteers can be booked a year in advance. You do not need to be present for each serving date, just secure the volunteers needed.

  • Music (can be anything - playing Pandora on phone speakers or a person singing, playing guitar, etc.)
  • Someone to say a prayer

WAYNE KITCHEN MEAL PREP COORDINATOR
We would like to add a volunteer to join the team of 3 coordinators already in place.   The person in this role would work with the team to plan and supervise the cooking in our kitchen the Saturday morning/early afternoon of each serving (6 times/year).  If unable to make it all 6 times, let us know which ones you would be able to make.

2018 serving dates are:
2/24/18

  • SALE HOURS: Friday, January 26 @ 8:30AM- Noon | Saturday, January 27 @ 9:00AM-Noon

These frigid, quiet days of deep winter are a great time to reduce after the holidays, so please go through some shelves, drawers, toys, or closets, and donate your best no-longer-used treasures to the WC Rummage Sale for others to enjoy! Ideal things to donate for this sale are warm winter clothing, shoes and boots, kids’ snow gear, and as always, jewelry, DVDs, clean and working household goods, kitchenware, CDs, tools, smaller furniture, and your best and latest-print books (no encyclopedias, text books, or worn items pls.) Gently used children’s books and toys, especially newer or classic, sell well too. Think NAME-BRAND, VINTAGE, even MID-CENTURY MODERN - what you would want to buy/receive or could sell on eBay if you had the time. Please hold all your fall/winter seasonal decorations until next fall if at all possible, and please do not donate older computers and TVs or stained, ripped, or broken anything.

All proceeds go to church missions and our community, and leftovers go to other charities to keep things out of the landfill, so it is win, win, win! Even something small you give may turn into cash to buy clean clothing for the homeless, cans or cards for our food pantry, or cash for the Pastor’s Discretionary fund, as some examples.

Volunteers for set-up and to work on Friday and Saturday are also always needed. To volunteer or get more information, please contact Virginia Gardiner - gardiner.family@outlook.com
