SENIOR HIGH MISSION TRIP TO OKLAHOMA!!
The Senior High Youth group will be heading to Okmulgee, OK, tomorrow through July 7, to work with the Indian Missionary Conference of the UMC. They’ll be expanding a building at one of their conference camps that is used for a variety of activities and missions. Our previous trips to OK have been a great experience, giving the kids and adults the opportunity to build relationships with our brothers and sisters in Christ from another culture. They will be back for the July 8 worship service to share their experiences.

NEW SERMON SERIES WORSHIP: OUR DEEPEST LONGING
STARTS JULY 15!
Why do we worship? What do we expect will happen? Multitudes of people gather every week on every part of the planet in their homes, under straw canopies, within marble basilicas to seek and find God. Around the world faithful followers and longing searchers gather to satisfy their deepest need – a connection with the divine, something sacred and holy. Join us for this 2-week sermon series as we explore the act of worship. What does worship mean for us? What does it mean for God? Together let’s discover something new in this ancient tradition that may lead us to a deeper experience of God in worship.

VIM & DISASTER RESPONSE TRAINING ON JULY 14
Each training costs $45 per person, which also provides the book Mission Journey, the updated VIM Team Leader Resource Toolkit, and a light breakfast and lunch.

Early Response Teams are “background-checked, badged, trained and motivated to be a caring, listening Christian presence,” said Simcox. “You will learn how early responders prevent further damage by tarping roofs, stabilizing structure, and clearing out debris and water-soaked materials. ERTs know how to prepare a structure for VIM recovery teams to do their work and how to provide hope to desperate survivors that God’s people do care about their lives and their homes.”

JUNE LEADERSHIP MOMENT!
On Sunday, June 17, Sue Scott, a member of your leadership team, spoke to the congregation about the leadership’s work and many of the changes we see around the church. In her talk she highlighted new welcoming initiatives that prompted changes to our church nursery and our parlor. She also emphasized work underway in our Food Pantry, Adult Connections and Technology ministry teams. If you missed Sue’s update and would like to learn more, click below!
LADIES' SAVE THE DATE FOR THE FALL RETREAT!!

GENTLE VINYASA FLOW YOGA!
We have two more Thursday evenings, July 12 & 26, at 6:30pm in Fellowship Hall, (lower level) before we break from the summer. All are welcome to come and be guided through 60 minutes of gentle vinyasa flow followed by a short meditation in relaxing poses. This is a great class for people looking for a more gentle experience, new to yoga, or for those with injuries or limitations, for ages 18 and up. Please bring your own mat, if possible. Donation is $5 per class, plus a food item for the food pantry. All proceeds go to the Wayne Church Food Pantry.
LADIES’ NEXT BOOK SELECTION!
All ladies of the church are invited to include The Lacuna by Barbara Kingsolver as part of their summer reading. We will get together in late August to discuss.
