On May 16, 2011 Councilman John D'Amico introduced Ordinance #11-877 to ban the sale of fur products in West Hollywood, CA (WeHo). The ordinance passed in November 2011, making WeHo the world's first city to ban fur products.

To honor the one year anniversary of the ordinance's introduction, D'Amico, Last Chance for Animals' Chris DeRose, Animal Alliance's Ellen Lavinthal, Born Free, and Fur Free WeHo will hold a press conference at West Hollywood's City Hall at 10am on Thursday, May 24, 2012 to kick off the first WeHo SHOP IN to be held on Saturday, May 26, 2012.

Show your support of WeHo passing another groundbreaking ordinance for the animals by participating in the WeHo SHOP IN. Find a list of stores offering a 10% discount here.  

Opponents of the fur products ban say the ordinance will impair business. Show the opposition, the city of WeHo, and the world that compassion is profitable! Tell WeHo businesses you are shopping there because you support the ban on fur products and WeHo being a cruelty free zone for animals.
