What You Don't Know Can Really Hurt You

Join us for a discussion on current legal actions that will affect every company of every size in this country. Learn what every business must know to protect itself.

About Our Speakers:

Angela Hendrix, J.D.: The President of The Onsi Group, Angela Hendrix, JD, spent her first eight years as an attorney in private practice as a litigator, conducting jury trials in both federal and state court for her law firm's corporate and insurance clients. Her first in-house counsel position was at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma (BCBSOK) where she managed all litigation filed against BCBSOK and each of its subsidiaries.

Ms. Hendrix has served as General Counsel for TerraHealth, Inc. (THI), a SBA 8(a) company here in San Antonio, successfully guiding that company through a DOL prevailing wage compliance audit.

Heather Garcia is a seasoned payroll and HR specialist who has consulted with commercial and government contractors on various issues all related to staying in compliance and reducing costs. She also has access to a variety of specialists in HR for any type of question or situation one can imagine, and some are real doozies.

 Auto Insurance Myths

Last month, we talked about the pitfalls of selecting an insurance company by price alone.  This month, I would like to cover some auto insurance myths, beginning with the myth that older cars always cost less to insure. While the age of your vehicle may influence your rate in certain cases, insurers look at many aspects of your car. Rates are based on not just the age of the car, but how popular they are with thieves, the difficulty to get parts, the cost of the parts, etc.

Another myth is that red cars cost more to insure. You can paint your car any pigment on the rainbow, but the color of your car makes no difference to insurers. The majority of insurers care only about the make and model of your vehicle.

Let me know if you have any insurance questions you would like answered.
