Walnut Grove Roadrunner Newsletter September 4, 2016
Happy September!!

We are entering our 4th week of school already! We're off to a great start!

Please join us this Wednesday, September 7 in Room 407 for our first Principal's Coffee.  We hope to see you there at 9:15 am!

Also, as teachers start working out their classroom volunteer schedules and school events are starting to take place soon, please remember to make sure you've turned your volunteer clearance form in to the office. You must be a cleared volunteer in order to work in the classrooms or at campus events.

Keep reading for lots of great information coming to you this week...

Special thanks to Superintendent Rick Rubino

A special thank you to Superintendent Rick Rubino for visiting Walnut Grove last Wednesday evening to present information about Pleasanton's School Bond Measure I1, " PUSD School and Classroom Safety, Renovation, Construction, and Modernization Measure"!

We also want to thank School Board Trustee Mark Miller, former Superintendent Jim Hansen, and former Walnut Grove PTA President Jill Buck, who accompanied Superintendent Rubino and helped answer questions about the bond measure.

Thank you also to all the parents and teachers who attended the PTA general association meeting last Wednesday.  The budget has been passed.  Thank you in advance for your donations.  The Walnut Grove PTA strives to allocate our funds to maximize the educational experience of all Walnut Grove students!

Salsa Day in the Garden

It is Salsa Day in the Walnut Grove Garden on Tuesday, September 6th!

We will be making a "one bite salsa" with ingredients from our garden.  Extra parents are needed to help make this go smoothly!  If you can lend a hand from 11:20 to 1:10 (or even part of that time) it would be appreciated!

You can sign up directly through Sign Up Genius: Sign Up Here!
Or contact Kim McCoy,   [email protected] or Candee Banman,   [email protected] for more information.

Fun Run Meeting

All Fun Run classroom representatives are invited (and encouraged!) to attend a meeting on Wednesday, September 14th after school at 3:00 pm in the Walnut Grove Library.

While this meeting is primarily for Fun Run classroom reps and will likely be somewhat procedure- heavy, all volunteers are welcome.  If this is your first Fun Run, come learn what it's all about.  If you're a seasoned Fun Run veteran, come hear about what's new and different this year.
We can't wait to see you and tell you all about the excitement in store for our Roadrunners!

Please keep in mind, if you plan to volunteer for the Fun Run, you must make sure your volunteer clearance form  is turned into the office asap, if you haven't already done so.  Click here for the printable form.

If you have any questions, please contact [email protected]

The first meeting will take place on September 16th in Room 101 (Mrs. Martin's Room).  To sign up for this fun program, click here.
