whitevale GOLF Club Hosts The

Wronski Cann Group Open

Whitevale ON (June 01, 2015) - This week, Whitevale Golf Club, welcomed the GTA AM Tour players for the Wronski Cann Group Open. Whitevale is an outstanding, private golf facility, which has been operating since 1958. It is truly a hidden gem. Tucked away in the heritage town of Whitevale, and surrounded by the best nature has to offer. Nine years out from a $3 million golf course renovation, the changes have matured and, from all accounts, are fantastic. With their golf course renovation debt retired, the club undertook a new project: an $8 million revitalization that included a beautiful new clubhouse and practice facility. The 78 players in attendance all agreed that the golf course, and brand new clubhouse, were excellent....!.

In the Championship Flight, Tom Fraser (Scarborough, ON) another Tour Rookie, captured his first GTA AM Tour win. Tom posted a round of 76 for a two-stroke victory. Alone in second was Jay Skukowski (Toronto, ON), who turned in a round of 78. To determine third place, card matching was required as three were tied at 80. When matching the inward nine scores, John Harrington (Ajax, ON) placed third ahead of Cal Laforty (Elizabethtown, ON) and Greg Colling (New Tecumseth, ON). In the Championship Flight's season-long Myrtle Beach Order of Merit, Michael Alderman currently sits in top spot with 380 points, in second is John Harrington with 300 points, and in third is Stephen Wright with 175 points.

The top two net winners, at each event, will receive one dozen TaylorMade golf balls and one case (24) of Mill Street beer. This week's winners were Matt Ward, with a net 71 and Cal Laforty, with a net 72. In addition to the season-long Gross Score, Myrtle Beach Order of Merit, players will compete for a parallel, season-long Net Score Order of Merit. For complete standings click on the link.

The winners of the closest-to-the-pin competition were Matt St Denis, winning a dozen TaylorMade golf balls.
