Dear Church,
I remember a song our young children came home with from Sunday School:
I am the Church!
You are the Church!
We are the Church together!
The song included actions, and smiles, and loud voices. But the song also included some pretty good theology. The Church is not a building; the Church is people. The Church is me. The Church is you. But the Church is always at its best when it's US.
In the coming days, we will have the chance once again to be the Church at its best. On Sunday, Sept. 9, we will proclaim "Welcome Home" to one another. Still on the summer schedule, we'll worship at 8:00 and 9:30 AM. And in between...at roughly 9 o'clock, we will pose for an old fashioned Church Picture in the CLC. Come for the Holy; stay for the Donut Holes!
On September 16 and throughout that week, we will resume our fall routines; worship at three hours AND on Wednesday! Faith Formation at 9:15 on Sunday AND Wednesday at 5:30 will unfold throughout our building, along with choirs, confirmation and youth groups, adult education; hot coffee and warm hospitality.
Finally this; I also remember not visiting the dentist for a number of years, and after awhile, I was embarrassed to go back. Lectures, guilt, pain...I knew it was coming! But it didn't. My dentist gave me a hug and said "Welcome Back!"
We are the Church together!

Registration continues for Faith Formation classes. Parents may register their children, ages 2 years through 12th grade, for Sundays at 9:15 am or Wednesday evenings. Classes start September 16th.

Kingdom Choir starts this Wednesday, September 5th at 7 pm!
Yoga Devotion Deadline is September 10th
A new eight week session of yoga will begin Saturday, September 15 through November 3. Classes are held in the Children's Gathering area and begin at 9 am. We need at least 10 prepaid participants (we have 7 registered as of today). Cost is $55.00. Address payment to Our Savior's Lutheran Church and place in drop box by the Welcome Desk.

Girl's Night Out on September 14th
Take an evening and enjoy time with girlfriends (and meet some new girlfriends). On this first of four Girl's Night Out, we will watch the movie Chocolat, a 2001 award winning movie about a woman and her daughter who open a chocolate shop in a small French village and shake up the rigid morality of that community. After the movie, we will share conversation about it. We will begin at 7:00 pm here in Our Savior's youth room. Mark your calendar, put on your most comfortable clothes and take a break!

The Faith Formation team still needs leaders for our fantastic fall programming. Do you have a heart for children, organization, or any other gift that God is calling you to share? FaithMarker for 2 yr old children on September 16th All families of two-year-old children are invited to attend the Family FaithMarker held during the regular Sunday morning education time at 9:15 am. We will begin our time together in the classroom and end in worship for a FaithMarker Blessing at the end of the service.
Hey CLUB 56er's! On Sunday, Sept. 23rd, we will be gathering at Doug and Susan Smith's house for an afternoon full of fun and catching up. There will be rides to the Smith's following the 9:15 service and continuing through the 10:30 service. Participate in a fun scavenger hunt, have lunch, catch up on summer, and more depending on weather. The fun ends at 4 pm and we ask parents pick up your child at the house. MEA Getaway is Only 2 Months Away!
On October 20th-23rd, Jr. and Sr. High Youth will head to Camp Castaway for a crazy fun weekend! There are only 20 spots available for the weekend so make sure to sign up on the youth board or with Chad if you want to go! Information is provided outside the youth room about the weekend.
September 9th is Confirmation Student Recognition Sunday!
To all of our 8th grade students entering into confirmation this fall, this is your day! We simply ask that you and your family be here for either the 8 am or 9:30 am service so we are able to recognize you as you enter into our confirmation program. Painting the Youth Room!
As most of you may already know, we have started to give the youth room a bit of a facelift in preparation for this fall. Our next item on the list is to paint the room! If you would like to help paint, please tell Chad your availability to do so.

Looking for clean soup and vegetable cans
The 14.6 oz size is best. Will be used for a Sunday School project so appreciate no sharp edges. A donation box will be outside of Kayla's office in the narthex.
Wednesday Meal Assistants
