Resources for the Systemic Implementation of Social and Emotional Learning by School Districts
CASEL's District Resource Center offers field-tested guidance, tools, and resources for SEL implementation throughout a district.  

Helpful tools include: 

The resources are a result of a multi-school Collaborating Districts Initiatives study CASEL recently published. Since implementation of the CDI, academic achievement has improved consistently in reading and math. Teachers have become more effective. Attendance and graduation rates are up. Suspensions and expulsions are down. Students feel safer and more connected to school. Read More.

13 Reasons Why Webinar & Resources

The  American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP)  recently partnered with the 
American School Counselor Association (ASCA) and the 
National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) to provide a free webinar for schools and informed community leaders that addresses the Netflix series  13 Reasons Why
 
The webinar is titled: A Teachable Moment: Using "13 Reasons Why" to Initiate a Helpful Conversation about Suicide Prevention and Mental Health and can be viewed here: www.afsp.org/mentalhealth.

AFSP also has expert videos and commentary on topics like how to have a conversation with a young person, information tip sheets on issues like how to recognize suicide risks & warning signs, as well as social media shareables, brochures, wallet cards, postcards and school-based programs.

Youth Mental Health First Aid Training of Trainers October 23-27, 2017, CESA #6 Oshkosh

Together with the DPI, the WISH Center is holding a Youth Mental Health First Aid TOT at CESA #6 in Oshkosh on October 23-27, 2017. Participants must complete the application process and attend all 5 days of training.
