WISE wholeheartedly abhors the anti-Semitic threats made against Jewish communities around the nation. Today, we stand in solidarity with our Jewish friends, and condemn the desecration of 100 tombstones at an historical Jewish cemetery.
We are heartened at the outpouring of support led by Muslim communities calling for the rebuilding of the Chesed Shel Emeth Cemetery:
We stand united against all hate and violence in America, and we pray that the collective dignity of our shared American life be restored. During these difficult and divisive times, Muslims must challenge all forms of bigotry and commit themselves to standing up for members of other faiths, anchored by our conviction that God revealed His wisdom and His truths to every community throughout the world:
God has ordained for you Religion what he commanded unto Noah, and that which We have revealed to you, and that which we commanded unto Abraham and Moses and Jesus - to uphold the faith and not to be divided therein (Qur'an 42:13).
