Sixth grade science students are excited to demonstrate and display their Year-End STEAM Projects, affectionately called YES Projects . These projects began months ago with students identifying real problems from their lives that they would attempt to solve through the engineering/design process. Through significant effort, persistence, and innovation, their final products are ready to show. We hope you will join us.

Sixth grade science teachers would like to thank the Wayland Public Schools Foundation for providing the funding to get this project started a couple of years ago.

Planning for Next Year:
Moving? Private School?

If your child will be attending private school next year, or if your family is moving from Wayland, please be sure to submit a student  withdrawal form  to your child's guidance counselor so that we may begin the process of preparing your child's records for transfer. Many thanks!

Building Resilience in Children
Dr. Ben-Levi of Human Relations Services
June 4, 9:00 - 10:15 am

All parents want their children to become resilient and confident. But increasingly they find it hard to let their children learn the vital life lessons that come from facing challenge and disappointment. How can parents strike a good balance between helping and protecting their children and letting them grapple with real-life issues? This program will offer concrete suggestions for managing this key dilemma.
THANKS!

Many thanks to our Teacher Appreciation Team (Jamie Janoff, Heidi Renneker, Dina Antun) for organizing the staff luncheon last week - below is a picture of some of our fantastic teachers feeling appreciated!
A FINAL THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU  to Sandy Staiti and Eileen Balicki, our 8th grade parent reps, who recently organized the DC breakfast as well as dinner and thank you gifts for our Washington DC chaperones. They have been our grade reps for the last couple years and have unfailingly come through and taken care of every detail of event after event on our behalf. They will also be throwing the final graduation breakfast on the last day for our 8th graders but we want to be sure to thank them before they left us for the high school. You have our gratitude Sandy and Eileen!

Wayland Alliance Club LGBTQ Panel
June 7, 7:00 pm
Wayland High School Lecture Hall

The Wayland Alliance club would like to invite the Wayland community to an LGBTQ+ panel event that will be taking place on June 7th at 7:00 pm in the Lecture Hall. The panel of speakers will be composed of current students, our advisors, and a few alum. For the past two years, the Alliance club has hosted an ‘Out and Proud’ panel at school for students to ask questions about the LGBTQ+ community in a safe space. This year, we, at Alliance, wanted to extend this opportunity to Wayland families to learn about the LGBTQ+ experience from present students and Wayland alums. We would love to see you there! Please complete this google form if you plan to attend. (The google form also has an area for anonymous questions to be submitted for the panel.)
