In this workshop students will be introduced to an approach to figure painting derived from the working methods of the French academies. A series of steps will be demonstrated and practiced allowing students to understand the process of completing a painting. Among the methods and techniques to be taught include: proportion and comparative measurement, line drawing, shape design, modeling, monochrome wash drawing and limited and full palette painting. The workshop is designed to give clear instruction for all levels of students, however some drawing experience is necessary to achieve best results.
