West Park Young Professionals to Meet at Paddy Rock Tonight

All young professionals who live, work, or play in West Park are invited to join the West Park Young Professionals (WPYP) group for its inaugural meeting tonight, February 26, from 6 to 8 p.m. WPYP, with assistance from KCDC, will be hosting a happy hour meeting at Paddy Rock Super Pub, 16700 Lorain Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44111, to socialize, brainstorm potential projects, and enjoy some food and drinks.

 

Appetizers will be provided, and the first drink is free! Whether you are looking to network, meet new people, or give back to the community, this meeting will be a great opportunity to help shape WPYP. If you have any questions or ideas, please contact Michael Schmit at [email protected].


Our Lady of Angels PTU Offers Shamrock Run 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run


On Saturday, March 7, the inaugural Shamrock Run, a timed 5K, 1-mile walk, and post-race celebration takes place, with the run starting at 3 p.m. and the walk at 3:15 p.m. Registration fees are $20 each by March 5. A family registration is $60 for a family of four; $15 for each additional family member. Race day registration is $25 each.

An adults-only celebration party starts at 7 p.m. inside Our Lady of Angels School, Linus Hall. It features a pasta dinner, drinks, raffles, and a silent auction. Tickets are $15 each. All proceeds support school activities. Download the order form for the dinner only, here. Please return it to the school by Monday, March 2.

Register for the 6th Annual Hooley on Kamm's Corners™
Be part of the fun by showcasing your organization or business to 30,000 people from West Park and surrounding communities on Saturday, May 9. The Hooley™ runs from noon to 8 p.m. on Lorain Avenue between Rocky River Drive and West 165th Street.

It's West Park's Homecoming Celebration, featuring great food, live music, children's shows & activities, Irish dancers, pipes & drums, and more.

Cleveland Bazaar, Northeast Ohio's longest-running indie hand-made event, will curate a juried handmade arts and crafts area, replacing last year's Fine Art Alley. All applicants must apply and be accepted by Cleveland Bazaar to participate.

Cleveland International Film Festival (CIFF) tickets go on sale to CIFF members only tomorrow -- one week before being accessible by others. As a Community Outreach sponsor, KCDC will be offering a limited number of vouchers on a first come, first served basis to our followers on Facebook and Twitter @KammsCorners. Look for announcements there.

Next week, a special code will be posted on our website that will provide a savings of $2 per ticket purchased. More than 475 film screenings will be exhibited at Tower City Cinemas at the festival. Grab your copy online here. Pick up printed copies at Cleveland Cinemas locations and, on Friday, at all Dollar Bank locations.

West Park Branch Library Activities To Keep Children Engaged

Toddlers from 18 months to 3 years old and their favorite adult elbow-children-line.jpg are invited for stories, active songs and rhymes, and time for play on Tuesdays, at 10:30 a.m. Children ages 3 to 5 years old are invited for stories, songs, and rhymes designed to help them become better readers. The fun takes place every Tuesday, starting at 11:15 a.m. Both activities run weekly through Tuesday, April 7.

Help Shape Cleveland's Neighborhoods Tonight

The City of Cleveland's Department of Community Development invites residents to help decide how to spend almost $25 million in Federal Program Funds to revitalize Cleveland's neighborhoods during the 2015-2016 program year.

A neighborhood meeting about the Rocky River Drive Master Plan is scheduled for Thursday, March 19, at 6:30 p.m. in the lower level of St. Patrick Catholic Church, 4427 Rocky River Drive.
