Wilmot Key Club has been very active this summer, and it will get even busier as school starts! Most recently, many Key Clubbers volunteered at the Kiwanis booth at the Kenosha County Fair, helping to run their food stand. As a reminder, there are regularly scheduled Key Club meetings throughout the school year, so come on in and see what Key Club is all about!
The first meeting is September 6, 2018, right after school in Room 160.

Wilmot Key Club will be doing a canned food drive during the September 7th football game.
If anyone brings two cans of unexpired food, they get free admission!
PARENTS OF FALL ATHLETES:

If you did not attend the Fall Parent Meeting, please review the Fall Parent Meeting PowerPoint on the WUHS website and complete the Google form at the end.

The PowerPoint must be reviewed by September 10, 2018, or your athlete cannot participate.

Wilmot Union High School would like to invite you to save the date of September 19, 2018 for our College, Career, & Tech Night.
The event is scheduled from 5:00pm to 7:30pm. The evening will allow for students and parents to visit display tables where College, Career & other representatives will be available to answer questions. This will be located in our Commons from 5:00pm -6:30pm.

We will have a Financial Aid Presentation from 6:30pm -7:30pm
 in the Haas Auditorium.
College Recommendation Letters

This is the time of year when teachers and counselors get many requests from Seniors for college recommendation letters. Due to the volume of these requests and our other work responsibilities, we are asking that students get recommendation letter requests to us at least  two weeks prior  to when you need them so that we can honor all such requests and provide a quality letter. To ensure a personalized letter, it is necessary for students to provide information to us regarding their extracurricular activities, volunteer activities and any awards, certificates, or letters of recognition they have received during their high school years.

Requesting Transcripts through Parchment

Wilmot Union High School has again partnered with Parchment to provide paperless, secure transcripts, sent directly to the colleges, universities or scholarship committees of your choice. It’s easy, it’s secure, and it’s available 24/7. To begin, go to  www.parchment.com  and follow the on screen instructions. You will be able to track the progress of your request and will receive an email notification when your transcript is delivered electronically or mailed (based on the delivery method you choose). Transcripts sent electronically will cost $3.60 * each, and those mailed via the post office will cost $5.00 * each (both credit and debit cards are accepted). Transcripts for the year 2007 and later are available electronically. Previous years are available in hard copy paper form and require mailing. If you are pressed to meet a deadline, next day, noon delivery is available for $30.00.

*The cost of the first four transcripts is waived for current students who qualify for Free/Reduced Lunch Program.

ATTENTION CLASS OF 2020 and 2022
Freshmen and Junior Conferencing Program

Freshmen and junior students and their parents/guardians have the opportunity to conference with your School Counselor during the fall. These conferences concretely help the students make the link between what they’re currently doing in high school with what they will be able to do after high school. The counseling department’s goal is to encourage every student to consider the long term benefits and consequences of the decisions they are making throughout high school. The junior conference takes this one step further by completely defining the planning process for every student to reach their post-high school goals. Whether it be attending college, joining the armed forces, or seeking employment, these conferences are designed to make sure your student takes the right path in high school to make his/her goals attainable.
The Germans will be here from September 20 to October 11.

They will stay with host families who are in German 2 - 4 and will experience the typical American teenagers life through field trips, visits to the grade schools and shadowing their partners here at Wilmot.
Senior pictures are due by November 1, 2018.
Please send a digital copy (at least 300 psi) as a JPEG attachment to dineganw@wilmoths.k12.wi.us OR bring a flash drive/disk to
Mr. Dinegan in Room 264.
Pictures should be a vertical pose and will be printed in color in the yearbook. (The photo taken By Network Photography will be used if a senior picture is not submitted)
Band and Orchestra Announcement

This is a last-minute reminder to be sure your instrument is working properly.

Check for these issues:
  • Brass instruments: all slides are greased and move freely, all valves are properly oiled, all pipes are clean.
  • Woodwind instruments: all keys move freely, all pads seal, you have a good supply of reeds.
  • Percussion: You have concert snare sticks at all rehearsals.
  • String instruments: All strings are in good working order, check your bow hair, your bridge is straight and aligned, you have rosin.

Thank you,
Mr. Sorensen
