In his State of the Commonwealth address Wednesday night, Gov. Matt Bevin hailed the early work of the new Republican majorities in Frankfort and vowed to make Kentucky a national model in areas ranging from manufacturing to post-Affordable Care Act health reforms.
 
 Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes responds to a letter from Congress requesting information regarding Kentucky elections, presumably based on President Trump's allegations relating to voter fraud in the 2016 election.


For over 35 years Central Kentucky Riding For Hope has operated out of the Kentucky Horse Park, graduating from an old tobacco barn to its current full-service facility.  Under its umbrella of horse therapy CKRH serves an enormous slice of the Central Kentucky area with a multitude of options.  WUKY's Samantha Lederman recently spent an afternoon there to learn more.


 

A former longtime member of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Council, who was instrumental in passing the city’s public no-smoking ordinance, has died. Dr. David B. Stevens served on the council for sixteen years before stepping down in 2008.
