THE GATEWAY TO EXTRAORDINARY POSSIBILITIES
Dear WUSD Staff, Parents and Community Members,

At the July 25, 2017 Special Board of Education Meeting, the Washington Unified School District (WUSD) Trustees approved the appointment of two administrators to the positions of Assistant Principal at Stonegate Elementary and Assistant Principal at Bridgeway Island Elementary.

Belinda Rabb-Patterson has been appointed as the new Assistant Principal at Stonegate Elementary School. Ms. Rabb-Patterson has most recently been serving as the Assistant Principal at Bridgeway Island helping the school continue its wonderful success. She has been a tremendous influence to the Bridgeway Island students, staff and West Sacramento community. Her professional success comes from more than seventeen years of experience in public education covering a variety of roles as elementary teacher, peer assistance review teacher, Beginning Teacher Support Association (BTSA) mentor and assistant principal.

Not only has Ms. Rabb-Patterson left a lasting impact at Bridgeway Island but her strong leadership is felt throughout the WUSD community as her reputation for serving in the best interests of students and families is second to none. It is with great excitement that we share the announcement of this new role for Ms. Rabb-Patterson as she begins a new chapter in her professional journey. We look forward to working with her to increase our capacity for reaching the needs of all students in WUSD.

Jenna Raski will serve as the new Assistant Principal at Bridgeway Island Elementary School. Ms. Raski has been a teacher in the WUSD since 2012; most recently serving as a third grade teacher at Stonegate Elementary School. She is an Innovative Educator in our District and enthusiastically taught in our Summer School programs. Ms. Raski demonstrates a tireless desire to go above and beyond in ensuring the success of her students, school and the entire WUSD family.

Ms. Raski brings to Bridgeway Island Elementary a unique combination of knowledge, leadership experience, data driven strategies and strong communication and organizational skills. These attributes are the cornerstone of Ms. Raski’s leadership style and will suit her well in supporting the continued academic and cultural growth of the Bridgeway Island community. We are thrilled with the opportunity to continue working with Ms. Raski, now as an administrator in the WUSD.

Ms. Rabb-Patterson and Ms. Raski are both amazing young talents in the WUSD ready to further develop their skills and transform our district into a true gateway to extraordinary possibilities for all children. Please join us in congratulating them as they begin their new roles on August 1, 2017.
