Wait Upon The Lord! 9/21/16
Psalm 123:2 (KJV)
2 Behold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait upon the LORD our God, until that he have mercy upon us.
Psalm 27:13-14 (KJV)
13 I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.
14 Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.

How often do WE ask for/PRAY for PATIENCE:
"
LORD, GIVE ME PATIENCE BUT GIVE IT TO ME NOW!"
Over the MANY years of my life, I have more than once entered a fast food restaurant only to quickly depart because the line was too long!!!
My last trip to Wallyworld resulted in my standing disgustedly in a LONG line-thank God for cell phones connected to the internet.
I HATE TO WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But, life is a long series of WAITING.

13 I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.
The WORD "FAINTED" is one of my favorite Words in the Bible.
A great translation of this very Word means:
FAINT-To lose courage or hope, to give up.
In actuality, the ONLY reason we "lose" something is WE "lose courage or hope, WE give up looking and/or seeking!"
I arrived home from Foley last Friday only to discover that all my careful efforts to protect my home against water damage had failed.
Although I had dutifully cut the water off from the street and set the A/C on 85, somehow and somewhere the A/C unit in the attic had stopped up???
The kitchen cabinets are ruined as well as much of the ceilings and walls of the kitchen and living room.
Now I have to get them repaired as well as get a new SEAT BELT installed on my truck AND my precious guitar had to be sent back to the dealer for repair.
Did I mention my weight gain?????
So, here I am, ready and WILLING to work for the Lord but burdened down with trivial stuff that thwarts my desire to move forward.
There is nothing I CAN do but, "WAIT on the Lord!"

I have used this story often to aptly describe "WAITING on the Lord."
A young lad was hired by Western Union as a delivery boy.
His job required him the use of a desk and chair, pen and paper, and telephone placed squarely on his desk top.
His BOSS described his work duties:
"
Sit here and listen for the phone to ring!"
The young man sat there all morning-no ring!
Lunch time came and went and as the afternoon wore on, he became more and more frustrated and confused.
Why no telephone ring????
Where is my boss?
WHY am I NOT being used?????
Finally, at 5 minutes to 5-time to get off work, the boss appeared.
The young boy blurted out his frustration to the boss to which the BOSS replied:
"
You DID what I asked of you!!! I TOLD you to WAIT on me to CALL you!!!"
TODAY, dear saint, IF God has need of you, HE will call upon you!!!
Otherwise, relax/go to the mall, go fishing, sleep in!!??
Live life, KNOWING that God's got it!!!
IF God needs you, He WILL call you!!!
Our only job is to ready, WILLING, and listening to that small, still Voice-
