PRAYER WARRIOR SPOTLIGHT: Min. Carthen
Min. Marlene Carthen
Cancer Survivor, Teacher &  Associate Minster
The Sanctuary Christian Fellowship Church

Min. Mireya Marlene Carthen is currently in her six year of ministry.  Marlene has been married to her husband, Nathaniel Carthen for 28 years, and has 3 wonderful children---Xavier, Denzel, and Talia. In 2012, she was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer.  After several misdiagnoses and two surgeries, Marlene went from cancer patient to cancer SURVIVOR without the need of chemotherapy or radiation treatment.  She is a living testimony that God will restore and transform your health, life, marriage, and mind. In 2000, Marlene accepted Christ as her Savior and joined Firewheel Church in Dallas, Texas. She became a teacher for the AWANA bible.

Although it appeared that her life had turned for the better, she had to learn how to deal with other struggles in life --- from marital issues to medication addiction.  After much resistance on her part, Marlene discovered the freedom to live victoriously by applying God's Word to her life.  In May 2009, she was called into ministry at the Family of Faith Fellowship Church in Houston, Texas and served for ten years.  The transformation journey has since led Marlene's steps to The Sanctuary Christian Fellowship Church in Houston, Texas to continue her spiritual growth and journey. Marlene is and continues to be an incredible testimony of the active, redeeming work of Jesus Christ.  There is a scripture that best exemplifies Marlene's life journey thus far: "I will not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord." (Psalm 118:17 - NKJV).

PRAYER WARRIOR SPOTLIGHT: Sis. Wooten
Sis. Adrian Wooten
Entrepreneur, Lapped & Laced Christian Ladies Accessories; Creative Visions by Adrian, and Divinely Delicious Soul Food Catering Company
New Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church

My name is Sis. Adrian Y. Wooten, I grew up in the Acres Homes Community in Houston, TX. Later my family moved to Spring, TX where I graduated from Klein Oak High School in 1989. I furthered my education at the Texas School of Business where I earned my certification in Business Administration. I am the stay at home mother of four (4) wonderful children; I am the wife of a wonderfully blessed man of GOD Denny L. Wooten, Jr. and I have been exceedingly and abundantly blessed to have him as my husband, and I am thankful to be his helpmate.

I have been blessed with an entrepreneurial spirit and mind and started not one (1) but three (3) businesses, a T-Shirt company called
Creative Visions by Adrian and a catering company" Divinely Delicious
Soul Food" and Lapped and Laced Christian Ladies Accessories. I must
say that GOD has HIS hands in all of my businesses and I would not have
it any other way.

I accepted Christ at an early age; I remember when I felt God tugging at my heart and I surrendered to HIS call. I am currently a member of the New Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church under the Leadership of Rev. David L. Smith, Pastor and First (1 st ) Lady Linda L. Smith. I am a faithful member, and active with the choir, the Anniversary Committee and strategic planning of growth through the Church Planning Committee, I am also a Prayer Warrior for my church. I don't mind telling anyone I know and those who I meet that I love Christ with all my heart and soul. He is the head of my life and I will proclaim the gospel even if I have to STAND BY MYSELF.

My passion is to help and nurture women to become the FLOWER
that God wants them to be. I feel we should always strive to become
Proverbs 31: 10-31 women. There's so much going on in this world but if
we hold on to GOD's unchanging hand we can live in HIS abundance and
favor every day! My favorite scripture is, "I can do all things through
Christ which strengthens me", Philippians 4:13. I am a willing vessel for
the Lord and when he calls me to minister in song or through his word I
am on fire for HIM! I will continue this journey until he says well done
GOOD and FAITHFUL SERVANT! WELL DONE...

To God Be the Glory!!!
