Celebrating Family Business June 6
 
The Walsh Leadership Center will honor family business members at a breakfast on Wednesday June 6, 2012 at Richardsonthe Novi Campus starting at 8 a.m.

Featured speakers will be Jamie Richardson, White Castle Vice President of Government and Shareholder Relations and fourth generation family in-law, who will discuss how the business culture and family relationships have sustained through four generations; along with advocacy group leader Ann KinkadeKinkade, President of Family Enterprise USA, who will talk about taking the family business agenda: FROM WHITE CASTLE TO THE WHITE HOUSE. Tickets are $30 for Walsh alumni and partners, and $60 for all others. Register here or call Cindy at 248-823-1238.

Certification Classes and Test Preparation Programs

Classes are scheduled to begin June 25 for registered tax return preparers (RTRP). The Walsh non-credit course is being offered at the Troy campus and will be taught by Adjunct Professor Eric Skinner, an IRS attorney. Additional online study aids are included in the tuition, available through the Gleim learning system. On site classes will be held on these dates over the summer of 2012: 1040
    * Monday, June 25      6 - 8 p.m. 
    * Monday, July 16        6 - 9 p.m.
    * Monday, July 30        6 - 9 p.m.
    * Monday, August 13   6 - 9 p.m.
The Walsh RTRP will also:
    * Identify trouble areas for test takers    

    * Gauge understanding of learning gains through regular quizzes
    * Offer a simulated exam environment with the final quiz.
