Dear Wamogo Families and Friends,

It is my hope that this letter finds you all well and healthy.  As we begin Marking Period 3 on January 31, I encourage parents to continue to monitor their child's progress in PowerSchool.  If you have concerns, please reach out to your child's teacher and/or school counselor.

Additionally, please check the school calendar on the Wamogo website for upcoming events and activities.  For your convenience, the day type is posted for each school day. In the event of a snow day, the day type does not change.  If the snow day happens to fall on an "A" day, the schedule proceeds the following day with a "B" day.

The WRHS Student News Blog is up and running!  If you wish to follow the blog, please click here. When viewing the blog, the option to follow is on the lower right hand corner of the screen. Enter your email address and you will be notified of new postings.  The blog is also available under the "What's New" tab on the Wamogo homepage.

Parent Coffee Hour is this Thursday, February 2 at 7:30 a.m. in the Library Media Center. The administration looks forward to meeting with parents and discussing interesting topics pertaining to Wamogo.

Attendance

To report a student absence, please call the main office at 860-567-7410 prior to 8:30 a.m.

Reminder:  Per State of Connecticut requirements, after 10 absences it is required to submit a doctor's note to the school, if the absence is medically related.

If your child is absent from any class without validation, the absence will be considered a cut from class and will be coded as such.

Automated calls regarding student attendance occur daily at 5:00 p.m. If your child is coded as CUT or T (Tardy), parent/guardians will receive an automated call.  If you have more than one student enrolled at Wamogo, and more than one of your children were coded as CUT or T (Tardy), you will receive a call for each child.

Please note that it is important for Wamogo to keep an accurate record of absences due to state laws and the potential for loss of credit.  If you have any questions regarding Wamogo's attendance policy, please refer to the student handbook  by clicking here. Additionally, attendance concerns can be discussed with your child's teacher or school counselor.
