Dear Wamogo Families and Friends,

The scheduling cycle for the 2017/2018 school year has begun.  Teachers are in the process of inputting recommendations for students. To plan for registration, grade level meetings will occur on the following dates:
January 19 - Juniors
January 25 - Sophomores
February 3 - Freshman

For further information regarding course registration, please view the School Counseling Department News or contact your child's school counselor.

The Winter STAR Testing in both literacy and math for all students is January 17 through January 27. Students can use their own Chromebook or laptop.  The test also works on ipads and tablets in the web browser.

I wish to extend my gratitude to the Guidance Advisory Council, which held its first meeting last week. Parents, teachers, administration, and community members working together toward a common goal is always a positive experience.  Thank you to the parents and teachers that volunteer their time to be a part of the Council.

The next Parent Coffee Hour is February 2, 7:30 a.m., in the Library Media Center. Parents are welcome to attend and enjoy coffee with administrators while discussing topics of interest pertaining to Wamogo.

Respectfully,
Jaime Rivera
Principal

Attendance

To report a student absence, please call the main office at 860-567-7410 prior to 8:30 a.m.

If your child is absent from any class without validation, the absence will be considered a cut from class and will be coded as such.

Automated calls regarding student attendance occur daily at 5:00 p.m. If your child is coded as CUT or T (Tardy), parent/guardians will receive an automated call.  If you have more than one student enrolled at Wamogo, and more than one of your children were coded as CUT or T (Tardy), you will receive a call for each child.

Please note that it is important for Wamogo to keep an accurate record of absences due to state laws and the potential for loss of credit.  If you have any questions regarding Wamogo's attendance policy, please refer to the student handbook  by clicking here. Additionally, attendance concerns can be discussed with your child's teacher or school counselor.
