Join Van Riper State Park for a weekend of spooktacular good times during Harvest Festival! There are three weekends of frightful fun to go: September 8-10, 15-17, and 22-24!

Friday night make boo-bread with the campground hosts, then head over to the pavilion for a Monster Mash dance!

On Saturday there will be face painting (fee involved), wagon rides, games and crafts, campsite decorating, and rounding out the evening will be trick or treating and the famous haunted hike!

The 2017 U.P. Fall Beer Festival will take place Saturday, September 9 beginning at 1PM, overlooking Lake Superior in scenic Mattson Lower Harbor Park, downtown Marquette. 

Attendees can choose from over 600 locally crafted beers from more than 80 Michigan breweries. 

Festival guests can also enjoy a wide array of tasty food from area restaurants (available for purchase), and listen to a talented line-up of musicians while they sip their beer.

The Marji Gesick 100, a Point-to-Point adventure across Marquette County (Michigan), will begin Friday, September 22. Save the Date!

Climb 13,000 feet beginning in Marquette and ending downtown Ishpeming. Race against Tinker Juarez, 2016 Marji Gesick Champion, as he returns in 2017 to defend his title. 

This race is self-supported. There are no official aid-stations. GPS is required. To qualify as a finisher, you will be required to collect a poker chip from four checkpoints along the course. Location of checkpoints is not disclosed. They will be highly visible the day of the race. In the event you arrive at the finish line without all four checkpoint chips you will not be eligble for belt buckles, dollar bills or awards. Worried about not having aid-stations? Fear not as the community comes out in full force to support this event! 

Don't want to bike 100-miles? There is an equally memorable 50-Mile option for you to enjoy (suffer through). Don't want to bike 50-Miles? No problem! Try running it: 100-Miles or 50-Miles. Your choice.

DOWNTOWN NEGAUNEE'S OKTOBERFEST

The Historic Downtown Negaunee Businesses are once again putting on a fabulous event, "Oktoberfest 2017," on Saturday, September 23. 

Enjoy "Gemutlichkeit," that feeling of warmth and friendship that they strive to provide in Downtown Negaunee. This "Fami ly Friendly Event" starts at 12 noon to 6PM and carries on through the evening. 

There will be different events, contests, and activities all day long on Iron Street, featuring the Jackson's Pit "Stein Holding Contest," food vendors, crafters, live music, Kid's Corner of festivities, pumpkin painting & more!

Different downtown businesses will be offering samples, specials, and discounts as well. It's Downtown Negaunee's Oktoberfest Time!

Vendor Spots are still avail able! $20 for a 10 ft by 12 ft space, and $35 for space, tent, & 1- 8 ft table. Electricity is available for $7 for the day. Vendors must provide their own generators, cords, and any supplies needed to run their booths. 

Please be aware of the weather factoring in, this is the U.P.! dress warmly, bring heaters if needed. This event is outside and the vendor fees are non-refundable. Set up for vendors may begin at 9AM  and all must be fully set up and vehicles moved by 11:45AM.  Take down may not begin until 6PM.

Devil's Rejects and Dust n' Bones are 2 of the Minneapolis area's premier tribute bands. Devil's Rejects is a tribute to Rob Zombie and Dust n' Bones is a Guns n' Roses tribute. Infathom is a hard rocking band from right here in the UP, and they are going to open the show!

Watch these three bands rock the stage in The Warehouse for the end-of-the-season party. It's going to be a big one! 500 tickets will be available and are priced at only $18. 

This is an all ages show, but it's not rated G by any means, so use your own judgment on bringing your kids with you.

There will be a full bar available in the Warehouse (114 N. Second St., Ishpeming) so you don't have to miss a minute of the show!

Cause for Paws Annual Gala is one of UPAWS biggest fundraisers of the year! Celebrate the bond between people and their pets, and support your local no-kill shelter at the same time. 

This year's Cause for Paws Gala will be held at the Marquette Masonic Building. Enjoy an evening of entertainment with hors d'ouevres, gourmet chocolate tasting, cash bar, 50/50 drawings, tons of raffle prizes, silent auction, live auction, and live music!

ABOUT THE DINNER

The Greater Ishpeming-Negaunee Area Chamber of Commerce (GINCC) is excited to present its 7 th Annual Dinner  on 
Thursday, October 19th  at the  Ishpeming Armory  (900 Palms Ave., Ishpeming). This year's theme is "The Great Gatsby," and will feature the short film,  Transformation

The event will include a social hour at 5:30PM and a formal dinner at 7PM with an inspirational program to follow, honoring our members and community members. The evening will conclude with the showing of Transformation, which will tell the story of Western Marquette County from the 1920s compared to the present day through photos and videos of the beautiful West End.
