House Committee On Natural Resources:
Oversight Hearing, "Examining the Critical Importance of Offshore Energy Revenue Sharing for Gulf Producing States"
Washington, D.C. : Today, Port Fourchon Director Chett Chiasson and Terrebonne Levee Conservation District Executive Director Reggie Dupre, testified in support of continuing to collaborate with the Gulf of Mexico Offshore Oil and Gas Industry in order to restore Louisiana's coast.

Director Chiasson , "It is vital for the Committee to understand through the contribution of Louisiana’s share of offshore energy revenue produced in the Gulf of Mexico, the continued ability for oil and gas exploration and production in the Gulf will be directly funding coastal environmental restoration in Louisiana."

Executive Director Dupre , "Today, the people of Louisiana’s gift to the country is affordable domestic energy through its service of the oil and gas industry. My region is a leader in this service especially that of deep‐water oil and gas production." "Our ability to work on this coast is threatened by our problems but our dedication and resilience answers the call each time," he continued.
2018 Industry Day was a Success!
Thanks to all who joined in Baton Rouge for Industry Day and stood for oil and gas industry jobs. We can't wait for next year.
Shell authorizes Vito deepwater project in Gulf
via Houston Chronicle
Royal Dutch Shell said Tuesday it's authorizing the multibillion-dollar Vito project in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico - the first major Gulf project announced this year.

Although the offshore energy sector continues to languish after the recent oil bust, Big Oil players like Shell are now beginning to move forward with big new projects at dramatically reduced prices. While Shell isn't revealing the project cost, Shell said it has cut the Vito cost estimate by 70 percent from the initial project design.
