HAGERSTOWN, MD (September 13, 2018) – Washington County Board of Commissioners announced its award of $51,455 in Community Development Block Grant Funds by the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development . The grant award will fund a much needed after-school youth program provided by the Hagerstown YMCA in Hancock, Maryland. The Town of Hancock reached out to the YMCA to address the pressing need to provide an affordable after-school program to families. The grant funds will enable the YMCA to provide a subsidy for families according to their household income on a sliding scale. This will ensure the program remains affordable to Hancock residents.
