On behalf of the Waterford Area Chamber of Commerce, we hope you had a fun and enjoyable summer!  What a summer we had with two very successful community events.  First of all THANK YOU to all our sponsors and to the volunteers who worked very hard to make the 4th Annual Balloonfest and the 11th Annual Full Moon Four Miler Run/Walk two great events!  The weather was perfect for both events and we saw an attendance of nearly 20,000 at the Balloonfest and over 400 runners for the Full Moon Four Miler!  Events like these bring an abundance of commerce to our area.

Autumn is a season of change and the Chamber has experienced some change as well.  Administrative Assistant Melissa Phillips has resigned from her part-time position with the Chamber and moved onto a new part-time position with the Waterford Graded School District.  Melissa and I both started on the same day last October and quickly learned our jobs together and became a great team.  I will miss working with her and wish her all the best in her new job!

Now I would like to welcome our new part-time Administrative Assistant, Ande Bellovary.  Ande is a lifetime resident of Waterford as well as a recent graduate of Marquette University.  She walked into our office looking to volunteer so we signed her up to volunteer at Balloonfest plus afternoons in the office.  This proved to be a mutual benefit!  I am looking forward to working with Ande and invite you all to call or stop by to introduce yourself.  Ande is in the office from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. and will be attending our monthly meetings/events.

Core Chiropractic and Wellness, a chiropractic office, will be hosting a free workshop on ADHD entitled Focus! on Thursday, September 18th at 7:00 PMat 1448 S Teut Rd, Suite D in Burlington, WI.

This workshop will delve into natural ways to help eliminate the symptoms of ADHD, common causes of ADHD, and the truth behind ADHD medications.

There are millions of people who have been diagnosed with ADHD, and that number continues to rise each year. With this continual increase of diagnosed cases, more people than ever before are prescribed medication to treat the symptoms. There is hot debate as to whether or not these methods are safe and effective, and symptoms return as soon as medication ceases.

The natural remedies discussed in this workshop aim to address the causeof the problems at their core and actually prevent ADHD symptoms from arising. Even those who do not have ADHD can see improvements in their mental clarity and overall health with these solutions, which have absolutely no side effects.

The workshop will be hosted by Drs. Brett & Raechel Moran, founders of Core Chiropractic & Wellness Center in 2011.  Both doctors are well into their additional pediatric certification program through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA), and they are also involved in the Epic Pediatric program to further their pediatric expertise.  Their mission at Core Chiropractic is to unleash the innate healing potential that is within us all through specific and gentle chiropractic care throughout pregnancy, infancy, childhood and beyond.  "Your body has an amazing ability to heal itself when the brain and nervous system are allowed to optimally communicate," says Dr. Raechel.   As a chiropractic office for all of your wellness needs, they  aim to educate and empower our community to restore and maintain health and wellness. The workshop can benefit both those who have ADHD, as well as those who are the parent of a child who does. Teachers also rave about the information that they receive from these workshops!  For more information about this free event, and to register, please visit CoreChiropracticAndWellness.com/Focus.
