The Wayland Public Schools Full Day Kindergarten Exploration Committee has developed a survey to collect perspectives from parents of preschoolers and parents of elementary students on the possibility of offering universal full day kindergarten. Prom - Late Night 2016 Fundraiser

Saturday May 14th is a big day for our kids, it's the night of the Junior Prom!  This year parents will organize and host the 19th Annual Late Night after prom party! This event, chaperoned by adults and 100% substance free, will be held immediately following Prom at the Wayland High School.  The cost is approximately $75.00 per attendee and we keep this event FREE for all to attend!  Donations are needed NOW to plan and secure the entertainment, food and activities.  We need you to make a donation as generous as possible to help us reach our fundraising goal!  Family & Business Tax Deductible donations can be made online at http://waylandlatenight.wix.com/2016#!donate/cee5, instructions for mailing check donations is there as well!  All business donations will be acknowledged in the Wayland Town Crier and publicized on our Late Night website, Wayland eNews, and our Late Night invitation!

Join us for our Saturday morning Dads/Kids free play in the Loker gym. We open the gym & ball room, lay out the mats and let the kids play (usually toddlers to 3rd graders). Dads have fresh coffee, bagels, a toaster oven, and great conversation!
Girls Ice Hockey Info Session

Have a daughter interested in playing ice hockey but don't know where to start? Please join Wayland/Weston Varsity Girls Coach Wink Von Ogtrop (former Harvard University Women's Captain) who will be hosting an information session to discuss with families how to get their daughters into the great sport of ice hockey. The session will take place at Weston High School Media Center, 444 Wellesley Street, Weston. Coach Wink will have information on local programs, equipment, skating lessons, etc. Please come and get all the information you need and bring your questions for Coach Wink.
Big Kids Roller Kingdom Party!

Join us for a good old fashioned roller skating party! We are taking over Roller Kingdom in Hudson so grab your friends, grab your skates (or rent them there) and join the WCPA Big Kids for a great evening of fun with friends and family. All ages are welcome. Open to both WCPA and non-WCPA families. Cost is $5 per person or $20 family maximum. $3 skate rental. Laser tag also available for an additional cost of $5/person per game.  Please note: this is not a drop off event.

The Boston-Cambridge area has been ranked as one of the top ivory sales markets in the U.S. and a 2015 investigation found Craigslist's Boston site to have the fourth-largest number of ivory or related wildlife products listed for sale among major U.S. cities. Massachusetts legislators are considering a bill that would ban the trade in ivory and rhino horn in Massachusetts, clamping down on the illegal trade by eliminating the cover of a legal market. Please come learn how Massachusetts citizens can help!
Spring Baseball Registration, Evaluations, and Other Important Dates

Spring is just around the corner and that means it's almost baseball season!  Be sure to register today for Wayland Little League's spring season and get in on the action before it's too late.  Teams (grades 3-7) will be formed in mid-March after player evaluations on March 5 and the season kicks off in early April so there's still time to join the fun.  Programs are available for players at all skill levels in grades K-7.  To learn more and to register, visit www.waylandlittleleague.org.

River Steward Award Nominations Sought

The League of Women Voters and the Wild and Scenic River Stewardship Council are soliciting nominations for the 14th Annual River Steward Award. Do you know someone who is an outstanding advocate for the Sudbury, Assabet and Concord Rivers?   Is there an inspiring project or creative program that protects the beauty and health of our rivers or is dedicated to building an environmental legacy for future generations?  We seek individuals, organizations, youth, teachers, businesses, government employees and others whose work will inspire children, families, town and school leaders to protect and preserve the Sudbury, Assabet and Concord Wild and Scenic Rivers today, and for future generations. Nominees may live or work in any of the SuAsCo watershed towns, including Wayland.  

Award winners are invited to a reception and awards ceremony held on June 17 as part of Riverfest 2016.

Special Needs  Resource Fair

Over 55 Special Need organizations and businesses will be participating in the Metrowest Special Needs Resource Fair.  All are welcome to this free event. There will be a children’s arts and crafts area staffed with volunteers so parents and caretakers can take in the fair.
