What we believe matters.
For out
of our beliefs come our thoughts, our words and our actions.
Throughout the Gospels, we see Jesus encouraging people to believe.
Don't be afraid, just believe. (Luke 8:50)
Don't let your hearts be troubled; believe God, believe also in Me. (John 14:1)
Anything is possible if a person believes.
(Mark 9:23)
Here at Word Fellowship Church, we have been examining our beliefs.
Our beliefs about God, about ourselves and about the world around us.
We believe that every believer
can be an agent of change.
We are destined by God to make a difference. As we allow this truth to sink deep into our hearts and souls, we are becoming the world-changers we are destined to be.
We believe that the body of Christ can walk in unity.
We are destined by God to love unconditionally. As this reality permeates to the depths of our belief system, we are becoming an increasingly powerful culture of love, of honor, of grace.
We believe that we
can fulfill the Great Commission.
We are destined to spread the Good News of our Father's Kingdom to the ends of the Earth.
We believe that prayer
is powerful.
We are destined to partner with God through His Holy Spirit to bring radical change to every circumstance.
We believe that God
is moving.
We are destined to see, hear, feel and perceive the divine working of God's Holy Spirit.
We believe the sick will be healed.
We believe the dead will be raised.
We believe the captives will be set free.
We believe we will change the world!
The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, for the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to proclaim that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed. He has sent me to tell those who mourn that the time of the Lord's favor has come. Isaiah 61:1-2
Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Matthew 28:19
These miraculous signs will accompany those who believe: They will cast out demons in my name, and they will speak in new languages. They will be able to handle snakes with safety, and if they drink anything poisonous, it won't hurt them. They will be able to place their hands on the sick, and they will be healed. Mark 16:17-18
